The lymphatic system nourishes the body by carrying nutrients to the cells. Lymph travels through channels that the circulatory system cannot reach. It is the cleansing, detoxifying, and rejuvenating system. It is our immune system. The lymphatic system produces white blood cells that attack invading bacteria and viruses while producing antibodies. It aids in the healing of problems associated with other systems of the body such as muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, endocrine, nervous, and the elimination systems.
The most important problem is the disorders of the humeral system which are caused by these phenomena and the consequences which come from the behavior of individuals (IE. diet or lifestyle) in a normal or pathological state. The Hebrews and Egyptians, then later Hippo crates, already attributed the major part of morbid incidents to troubled humors.
By “humors” we mean the extra-cellular liquids of the organism. They form the fluid part of the circulating blood: the plasma, in which the sanguine elements appear, such as the suspended white and red cells, and also all the interstitial liquids either lacunal or others, which bathe, impregnate or encircle the tissue and organs. The “humors” may also be called lymphatic fluid.
The designation, lymph, was Bartholin’s name for clear body water in 1652, and covers nutritive liquid on its way to cells, interstitial lymph as well as fluids within billions of cells (cytoplasm), which makes up half of the lymph fluid besides the lymph flowing through vessels and filtered by the lymph glands. The human body consists of 2/3 fluid, most of which is lymphatic fluid.
The lymphatic system in recent years has been a step-child of the medical profession. However in this century, the ancient humeral therapy is finding its place in modern healing practices. In recent years, an abundance of experience from clinical investigations and daily practice have brought about new discoveries of the structure and function of the lymphatic system. To quote Professor Cecil Drinker from a research work of Alexis Carrel, “the lymphatic system is the most important organic system of human and animal life; therefore we are now obliged to consider this system as one of the most important therapeutic factors in geriatric cases.”
Lymphatic Massage is a massage technique developed in the 1930's by Dr. Emil Vodder, a European Physical Therapist. He called the ancient humeral art of lymph stream acceleration Manual Lymph Drainage and it is the most revolutionary therapeutic healing system to be rediscovered in the modern world. In the lymph stream, due to stress or some biological disturbance, certain inhibitors (mineral or organic) in the blood diminish in concentration.
With the technique of Lymphatic Massage, 40-50 liters of lymphatic fluid are accelerated, which results in the regulating of homeostatic disturbances of metabolism. All biochemical processes are only possible when the lymph flows through the cells. Accelerating the current of lymph flow allows a quicker detoxification process, and improvement in metabolism, and the betterment of conditions for life’s processes.
Many difficulties for older people, and young too, could be avoided if it were understood that the lymphatic system is an all penetrating system, cleaning as well as rejuvenating. The joints will keep their strength and suppleness when regulating the synovial fluids through lymph drainage, because this process immediately starts the production of protective interferon. Every treatment is thus augmenting the body’s own immunological forces. Your immune system is what protects you from the enemies around and within you such as bacteria, viruses, cancer, and atherosclerotic plaques. Without your immune system, you would have to live in a plastic bubble because the slightest exposure to bacteria or viruses will quickly lead to a deadly infection. As we age, our immune system’s ability to protect us deteriorates seriously. In fact, most of us die because our immune system fails to protect us. Using lymphatic detoxification, nutrient supplementation and dietary modulation, we can dramatically improve the performance of our immune system, whatever our age.
As we grow older, we become less and less able to handle disease. The diseases of old age most likely to kill or disable us are arteriosclerosis, cancer, and arthritis. These can be prevented by a well functioning immune system. If you were able to maintain the physiological condition you had at early adulthood, you might reach a lifespan of over 800 years! The immune system is very important in determining your physiological condition.
What are the parts of your immune system? It consists of about one trillion lymphocytes and 100 million trillion antibody molecules, along with other chemical weapons such as interferon and tissue of bone marrow, spleen, thymus, and lymph nodes. As the red blood cell is the medium of transport of oxygen to the body, the lymphocyte is now proven to be a similar medium of transport for nucleic acids. It is important to note that it is the lymph that distributes all nourishment, mineral salts, vitamins, and oxygen from the blood to the cells.
Many diseases are a result of cellular malnutrition due to lymphatic stagnation; eczema, chronic inflammation, traumatic edema, osteoporosis, allergies, and Hodgkin’s disease, which was originally called lymphogranulomatosis.
Lymph drainage, when administered by specialists, is a natural, rational, cleansing of focal infections, especially is nasal, tonsillar, and dental affections. The latest research has proven the efficacy of this therapy.
Lymphatic Massage is a precise technique designed to promote the normal functioning of the lymphatic system. The removal of metabolic wastes, excess water, toxins, bacterium, viruses, broken cells, plasma proteins, large fat molecules, and foreign substances from the tissues via the lymphatic vessels and venous capillaries is facilitated by Lymphatic Massage. Therapeutic application of Lymphatic Massage enhances the activity of the immune system, reduces pain, and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn alters the brain wave pattern to one which more closely resembles brain waves that are associated with the reduction of stress. Thus as a bio-energetic approach to massage, lymphatic massage therapy demonstrates benefits on the physical, emotional, and psychological levels of the human experience, with profound implications for enlightenment and transformation as an expression of God’s love in elevating the entire planet to a higher octave of healing vibrations.
